Is this really free? What is the catch?

Yes, this program has been made available for free through the support of our sponsors. The only requirement is that your AADE membership is current.

Can I get as many DVDs and handbooks as I want?

We may limit initial quantities of the free patient DVD/handbook packages to make sure all AADE members receive them. All members will receive the free Classroom and Lobby Editions. In addition, all of the DVD contents will be available free online.

Who wrote the script? What is it based on? What does it cover?

The content was developed based on the AADE 7 Self-Care Behaviors framework (Healthy Eating, Being Active, Monitoring etc.,) and the medical consultant was Ginger Kanzer-Lewis, who is a former president of AADE.

Will there be any languages available other than English?

Later this year we intend to make a Spanish language version available.

How many DVDs and Handbooks should I ask for?

You should tell us the average number of patients you see per month. We will attempt to get you enough DVDs and Handbooks for all of them, though we cannot promise to be able to get you that number. Please only ask for as many units are you are confident that you can distribute to patients; we do not want any to go unused since there will likely be other people who could have used them.

Can I order just one copy of the DVD at first to see if I like it and then sign up for more later?

Yes. However, you might have a better chance of receiving the total that you need by telling us up front how many DVDs you will need if you decide to participate. That will help us plan better.

Do I have to receive all of the DVDs at once? I don’t have space to store them all

We plan to ship every three months. That should help limit the amount that you need to store at any one time.
